What a template saves
A template captures:- Proposal type — Technical, Hour Bucket, T&M, Retainer, Milestone, or Staff Augmentation.
- Document mode — whether the output is a proposal, proposal + agreement, contract, or SOW.
- Default settings — hourly rate, currency, availability, delivery mode, and other project-level defaults.
- Custom clauses — legal clauses you’ve selected or AI-generated (IP, NDA, change management, payment terms).
- Governance configuration — warranty period, revision rounds, change request process.
- Branding preferences — theme, color, font pairing.
Creating a template
- Build a proposal with the configuration you want to reuse.
- Go to Settings → Defaults & Templates.
- Click Save as Template.
- Give the template a name and optional description (e.g., “Standard T&M for enterprise clients” or “Retainer — monthly maintenance”).
Using a template
When creating a new proposal:- Click New Proposal from the dashboard.
- In the creation hub, your saved templates appear as cards alongside the default proposal types.
- Click a template to start a new proposal with all its saved settings pre-applied.
- Fill in the project-specific content — brief, client details, requirements — and you’re ready to share.
Editing a template
To update a template:- Go to Settings → Defaults & Templates.
- Click the template you want to edit.
- Modify the settings, clauses, or configuration.
- Save. Existing proposals created from this template are not affected — only new proposals will use the updated settings.

- Retainer for monthly services.
- Milestone-based for phased delivery.
